Izola Rebecca Rowe

Izola Rebecca Rowe was born April 18th, 1934, to her parents, the late L. Z. Friar and Abbie Heard, in Augusta, Arkansas. In her youth, she made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized.

Izola attended Carver High School in Augusta before becoming a young bride to Z. H. Rowe. Their union produced four children. After the passing of z. H., Izola worked feverishly to provide for her young family. She later added three additional children with Joe Burt Ross. Sh@ worked t@mporarily as a nurse and did other odd jobs. As a moth@r of six children she found her calling in serving others as a house keeper. After losing her leg due to an accident, Izola provided for her family by collecting and trading in scrap goods.

Izola had a great mind for family history and facts. At any given moment, she could recall names, places, and dates from any part of her experiences with great accuracy. She was quite the talker, for she needed to relay all of the memories in as much color or detail as possible. It would take almost nothing for her to get riled up in the middle of telling a great story.
Preceding Izola in death, a brother, Robert Friar, and sister, Alena Sailor, three children, Ida Dora Rowe, Loman Lewis Rowe and Chester Floyd Ross.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children: David Earl Rowe, Sr. (Annie), Doris Helen Rowe, Joe Thomas Ross, and John Dewitt Ross; one brother, Thomas Edward Sailor; seven grandchildren: Arnetria McGee (J.W.), Taka Tanner (Trez), and David Rowe, Jr., Leon Rowe, Erma Rowe, Delores Smith, and William Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren.
