Jill Blanchard, Jr
May 27, 1979 ~ September 14, 2023 (age 44) 44 Years Old
Jill "N.O." Blanchard was born May 27, 1979 to the union of Jill Blanchard Sr. and Jessie Mae Blanchard, in Westwego, LA. He was the middle child on both sides of his family. His siblings on his mother side were Deborah Lunkin, of Gonzalez, LA, Darrel Lunkin, of Westwego, LA , Denise Lunkin, of Bridge City, LA , Chaz Washington, of Westwego, LA, Javon Johnson, of Houston, TX and a host of brothers and sisters on his father's side who all preceded him in death.
He was baptized in the Presbyterian Church in Gonzalez, LA. He was born and raised in Westwego, LA. He graduated high school in 1996 from L.W. Higgins in Marrero, LA. He also attended Stevenson Academy of Hair Design where he obtained his barber's license.
He was a best known as a Facilities Manager for 5 years at 1st Lake Properties in Harahan, LA. He then earned his EPA Certification in HVAC Heating and Cooling where he would take over his local neighborhoods assisting residents with HVAC services to those in need. For the next 8 years he would earn a living as an Exterminator for D. A. Exterminating in Metairie, LA. He resigned as an exterminator and moved to St. Louis, MO where he navigated his way through the world of cutting hair. He established a lucrative Barber Shop in his home basement where he worked for 6 years.
In 2003 he met Rachel Granberry in Metairie, LA and instantly fell in love. For over the next 10 years they developed a strong bond that even Hurricane Katrina could not break. In 2014 Jill moved to St. Louis, MO where he setup permanent residence and married Rachel in 2015. In 2017 they welcomed a beautiful baby boy who Jill named Honor.
He is survived by his 6 children Kaytearia Blanchard of Atlanta, GA, Kris Blanchard of Marrero, LA, Jallil Blanchard of New York, NY, Karon Blanchard of Westwego, LA, Kanye Blanchard of Westwego, LA, and Honor Blanchard of St. Louis, MO whom he loved very dearly.
In his last 3 years he moved with his wife and son to Jennings, MO. He enjoyed being an established barber, as well as a School Crossing Guard for Jennings School District. He also enjoyed meeting new people and mentoring the children. He spent his free time giving advice and life lessons to his clients and neighbors who became family. He enjoyed cooking and feeding the neighborhood with his New Orleans cuisines. He had a very friendly, outgoing personality. He loved talking to people and helping people whenever and however he could. He often enjoyed teaching others how to cook as well as educate them on life experiences. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, six children, a host of brothers and sisters, cousins and friends.
