Be the first to offer your condolences on Larry's Tribute Wall
Larry Jackson was born September 1, 1944, to Lilly and John Jackson. He grew up in Madison and Brooklyn, Illinois. Larry was one of two siblings. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Brenda Jackson.
Larry attended Madison and Brooklyn public schools.
Larry was a strong young man that always searched for a job to do. He was fascinated with trains and often hung out in rail yards when he was younger.
Larry later moved to Peoria. IL where he began a new life and found Jehovah. He remarried the love of his life, Brenda Jackson, and together they raised three children, John McCloud, Jamesetta McCloud, and Amanda Jackson.
Larry was employed by Caterpillar Inc. and Massay Roofings.
Larry was crazy about his wife, Brenda Jackson. They loved to travel to East St. Louis, IL, to visit their loved ones enjoying playing cards and sharing laughter. Most of all he loved to eat Chinese Food and Snoots when visiting East. St. Louis, IL. Larry loved music and that love for music shined through him playing the piano, harmonica, and guitar.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory: one son, John McCloud of Decatur, AL; two daughters, Jamesetta (Jason) Hayes of Peoria, IL; Amanda (Antonio) Jackson of Peoria, IL; eight grandchildren; Wesley, Ashley, Kent, Lanesha, John, Jalesha, Aleshia, and Britni; a host of great grandchildren and foster children; one sibling, Brenda Crowe of Peoria, IL; and a host of other family and friends.
